Special protection during the day

This might be the most important step in the morning since it helps your skin to defend against all the harmful rays from the sun, causing dark spots, skin damage, fine lines, and wrinkles, a.k.a. prematurely aging of your skin.

10. SUN PROTECTION (AM)

[at the last step op your morning routine, before your make up routine]

Today many of us already wear a moisturizer and / or foundation (/ BB / CC) with SPF. But such a product alone is not enough to prepare sufficient UV protection. Basically, we would need 1/4 tablespoon of sunscreen to protect ourselves properly. The SPF protection in such a product has been diluted and that is why we always recommend that you always apply a separate sunscreen.

Unlike their Western variant, the Korean sunscreens are very lightweight, or even weightless, absorbs quickly, and wears really well underneath makeup. On lazy days you can even use it as your base makeup instead of a BB cream.

SUN RAYS - UV/UVA/UVB

UV = Ultra Violet
A form of energy that comes from the sun. Damages the skin’s cellular DNA, thus causing skin cancer.

UV Aging
Has a long wavelength and penetrates deep into the skin (dermis). Can cause skin cancer, aging (by attacking the collagen in your dermis), pigment spots

UV Burning
Has a shorter wavelength than A and penetrates the skin more superficially. Causes skin cancers, sunburn, temporary dark spots

Ingredients with both UVA and UVB protection
Dioxybenzone, Oxybenzone, Sulisobenzone, Titanium Dioxide*, Zinc Oxide*
*Mineral filters, often leaves a cast.

Protection factors

Sun Protection Factor (SPF)
SPF__ refers to when the product is applied correctly the skin can stay in the sun __ minutes longer without burning and is often seen as a measure of UVB protection.

It is often said that SPF30 offers about 97% protection and that SPF50 can't offer very much more protection. However, too few tests have been performed here to form reliable measurements. It is clear that the higher the SPF, the more protection it can offer, provided sufficient product is applied and in the case of SPF we speak of 2mg per m2. If you only apply a thin layer of SPF50, you are not necessarily better protected if you apply the recommended amount of SPF 30. That is why it is important that you apply the right amount.
