Skincare hacks for sensitive skin to become more calm and glowing
No more morning cleansing
If your skin is sensitive and dehydrated, it might be good to take a break from cleansing product in the morning. Skipping on your regular cleansers in the morning will give your skin a chance to rebuild and create a natural protective moisture barrier.
Cleansers are made to help you remove dirt, oil and other environmental pollutants. When waking up in the morning your skin is not yet exposed to any environmental pollutants, dirt, sweat or oil. Your skin worked hard all night after your evening skincare routine, to rebuild its natural protection barrier in form of a layer of helpful oils that keeps your skin soft and moist. Washing your face in the morning with a cleanser can strip away the oils, while your skin will spend the rest of the day to rebuild this barrier again.
Instead of washing your face with a cleanser it is recommended to splash lukewarm water and use a cotton pad soaked in toner to cleanse your face in the morning. This will remove excess oil, dirt and exfoliates without stripping away oils. Holy grail Beauty Water by Son & Park would be an excellent option to get the job done. Or use a low pH (morning) cleanser which won't strip away the good oils from your face. Such as the Marshmallow Cleansing Cream from Enature, or the Gel to Water Cleanser from Lagom.
However, skipping cleanser in the morning is very relieving for many skin types, it is definitely not suited if you have oily or acne-prone skin since your skin will benefit from a good wash. If you have extremely oily or acne prone skin, use a gentle cleanser to cleanse in the morning, such as the Marshmallow Cleansing Cream by Enature or Benton's Honest Cleansing Foam, it can help to reduce oil and helps to kill bacteria.
Layer up with toner(s)
Your skin might also be thankful if you would continue with layers of hydrating essence toners (a.k.a. "skin") afterwards. This toner-layering method is the so-called 7-skin method, evolved from the 3-skin method. The 7-skin method allows your skin to skin soak up one thin layer at a time so that your skin can eventually drink up much more toner/essence/“skin” than it normally would. The skin gets more time to absorb a good amount of hydrating ingredients, without loosing products (e.g. evaporating).
The result is a salon-worthy glow on your skin. It's a perfect treatment for all skin types, including sensitive skin since you won’t need to work with different types of products / ingredients and it is oil-free! If you do this 7-skin method consistently, your skin ends up looking more glowing and healthier.

Clean lifestyle
- Clean towels / pillows - Say no to bacteria: what’s important is to regularly change your towels and pillow cases to avoid any bacteria’s growing and moving to your face.
 - Clean pores - Say no to thick make-up: don’t let thick layer of make-up clog your pore. So please use a oil-based cleanser after you return home.
 - Say no to UV-rays: sun protection is extra important when your skin is sensitive. It heats your skin and will make it more irritated. Therefore you should always wear sunscreen to protect your skin.
 - Avoid "harsh" ingredients meant for oily skin: use gentle and hydrating products that won’t strip oils while won’t clog your pores.
